How long OCI card holder who has BE citizenship can stay in India

Santosh0787

Hello members,

Can someone tell me how long a OCI card holder can stay out of Belgium and live in India? Does he need to pay taxes or submit any papers regularly to keep the citizenship? What things do we need to keep in mind to avoid problems.

Do we need to take any additional steps for kids who are below 18 years old?

thanks

Hello Santosh0787,

You increase your chances of obtaining the needed information by engaging with individuals currently residing in India. As a result, I have moved your thread to the India forum.

All the best,

Hi Santosh , as far as I know OCI grants you a lifetime stay in India.  It is evident that you have traced your roots back to India.  The only 2 things that you cannot do as an OCI card holder is vote in India and own agricultural land.  All the best, I am still trying to get my OCI paperwork sorted , it is taking ages in South Africa
