Receiving a courier envelope in Siem Reap

zeubie

Hi there,

I am a Canadian and recently moved to Siem Reap 3 months ago.  I just found out that my credit card was compromised and the bank will issue me a new card, but they will only send it to my home address in Canada.  They told me that I can get one of my family members to forward the card to me in Cambodia.

I've read that receiving international courier packages in Cambodia can be tricky.  I noticed on Google maps that DHL has a depot in town and from additional reading online, they seem to be the most reliable option.

I also read that sending a package to a "home address" is difficult here as they do not seem to exist here, so I need to have it sent to the courier's depot.  Is this true?

For those of you who have received international courier packages here in Siem Reap, can you offer any advice on the best way to receive it?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

All the best.

cheryal, DHL will only accept your parcel if they have an address to deliver to which is impossible in Cambodia , the best way I have found is to have it sent via the postal service addressed to you, include your mobile number for them to contact you on arrival, in your case time will be a factor, usually the Dhl depot is unmanned and very hard to contact someone.
