How much does it cost to live in Zimbabwe?

>accommodation prices:
to count 1'500 upward usd for a house (4 bedrooms, garden, pool or tennis, borehole and security ...) + 250 usd for electricity, water goes between 0 usd (borehole) and 300 usd (watertank)+ 100 usd for generator

> public transportation fares (tube, bus etc.)
1-4 usd for public transport (informal minibuses). difficult to travel with the minibus (combis). taxis are above 10 usd.

> food prices (your monthly budget)
buying for a familly of 6: 150 usd/week.

> health prices (for those who need medical insurance)
basic air-vac + hospital bills: 2600 usd/year (for the family), complete coverage: 600 usd/month
We pay 700 usd/month for complete covrage + pension fund + life insurance, etc etc. for the family (Belgian national security system)

> education prices (if you need to pay)
to plan 2000 usd inscription fees + 2000/3000 usd a term per child. The international school is much more expensive (14000 to 21000 usd/year per child). there is a great french school, otherwise very good private zimbabwean schools. All are in the same price range. Many social groups also for home schooled kids + clubs.

> energy prices (oil, electricity)
1.4 usd/liter of diesel, 1.46 for petrol.
electricity goes depending on the house, with a prepaid meter to plan between 50 usd (small house, 1 boiler, no electric stoves, no pool) to 300 usd (all of the above)

> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone)
internet uncapped fiber = 147 usd/month
Adsl with the phone line: from 20 usd/upward
TV: DSTV: 75 usd/month (PVR HD decoder)
phone: cell phone: +/-100 to 200 usd/month

> price for a good menu in a traditional restaurant
1.5 usd for a pie, 1usd for a coke.
4 usd for a KFC burger.
for two in a pizza place, (1 beer, 1 wine glass, no desert), will be 50 usd.
for two in a good restaurant, will be around 100 usd.

> price for a coffee or a drink
coffee= 1.5 to 2 usd
smoothie 3 to 4 usd
coke= 1 usd
local beer 1.5 to 4 usd.

> price for cinema tickets
