Hello

casadj70,

Welcome to Expat.com 😀

Is there any topic you would like to discuss with other members of the Agadir forum? For example the cost of living, or anything related to health, or even accommodation, etc

Feel free to ask questions.

Cheers,

Cheryl

Agadir is a strong option if you want a relaxed coastal city with a mild climate, lots of sunshine, and a growing mix of locals, retirees, remote workers, and expats.

Weather

Agadir is known for warm, sunny conditions for much of the year, with mild temperatures compared with many other Moroccan cities. Around late June, forecasts show daytime highs near 31°C and mostly sunny skies, so summer can feel warm but usually not extreme.

A useful thing to know is that Agadir’s coastal location helps moderate temperatures, but the sun can still be strong, so sunscreen, light clothing, and good hydration matter. Even when it feels pleasant, UV exposure can be high.

Living as an expat

Many expats like Agadir for the slower pace, beach access, and easier day-to-day living than larger cities. It’s a place where people often settle for lifestyle reasons rather than nightlife or big-city energy.

To connect with expats, the best approach is usually local Facebook groups, WhatsApp communities, coworking spaces, cafés near the beach, and language-exchange meetups. Those spaces tend to give the most honest feedback about cost, neighborhoods, bureaucracy, and daily life.

Things to prepare

Before moving, it helps to think about housing, residency paperwork, healthcare access, transport, internet reliability, and your budget. Agadir is generally manageable for everyday living, but the practical details matter a lot, especially if you plan to stay long term.

A simple checklist:

Visit for at least a short stay first.

Compare neighborhoods near the center, beach, and quieter residential areas.

Ask expats about rent, utilities, and seasonal price changes.

Check how you’ll handle residency and insurance.

Test internet speed if you work remotely.
