Residency / housing certificate

I'm from UK marrying a moroccan. I have the usual documents in order but the lawyer in morocco is now saying that i need to provide a housing / residency certificate to prove my residency in the UK. Is this normal?

are you british or foreign residing in UK? As far as I know you do not need to provide residency certificate as your nationality confirms that and a consulate in Rabat can confirm that too.

i'm british. which documents can prove that? is a passport enough?

@umerfarooq1

Yes Umer the passport is enough or even if you have a visa that itself is enough. Although the embassy will give you a certified copy of your passport which is fine to use as your proof of residency.
