Having a baby in MRU

Alves Siqueira

Hi to all,

My wife and I are planning to have a baby in Mauritius. Does anyone have an idea of how much would cost the entire process including medical expenses of exams, prenatal and etc + the delivery?

Hello!
Privet doctor consultation costs between Rs 1500-2500, analises between Rs 300-1500 each, delivery normal (clinic +doctor) from Rs 50000, cesarean from Rs 100000.

It's better to get an insurance before planning to have a baby, insurance will cover nearly 100% of all the medical expenses.

Clothes for baby is better to buy abroad, here it is more expensive.

Hi Nastia,

Thanks for the help!
The problem with the insurance is that they have a 2year restriction until they in fact cover the process..
It would be private, I'm sure it will be more expensive but as long as we can have the baby safe that doesn't count much.

Anyway, thanks for replying.

Regards :D
