You have to consider the conditions of your brother. Is he a Mauritian citizen? Is he on an employment contract? Is he an investor on the island? Is he married to a Mauritian citizen? You will be able to get a sponsorship letter only if he a a citizen. Otherwise, you have to apply for a normal visitor visa.

Hi kaviraj,

He is an mauritius citizen staying there from last 5 years. what would be the further action to get an visa.

Thanks,
Varun

I'm not quite sure if someone can be granted citizenship after living for only 5 years. The only way for that is to be married to a Mauritian national or by investing at least USD 500,000 in a luxury residential unit. Did you mean resident? And on what basis? Investor or professional who renewed his permit after a period of three years? Will need more information to be able to help you.

Only someone who has been granted citizenship can accommodate another family member. If not, you will have to go through the routine visitor Visa process and show that you have enough funds to cover and support yourself during your stay.

Thank you for helping me however, he married to a Mauritian national 5 years ago. I was not able to visit there at that time.

Hope that now I would be able to do so.

I am not sure but I think that if you really want to give your brother a suprise. Then you take a 6 months air tkt from Delhi. On arrival to Mauritius, they will ask for your address of stay you can give them your brothers contact details. The immigration will give you a 2 month vist visa. You can then ofcourse take an airport cab to your brothers house and suprise him.

Once that is over, your brother can give you a letter that you are going to stay with him for six months and as you are already having a return tkt for six months, the immimgaration office in port louis will extend your stay for another 4 months. This can be done only a week before your 2 months stay is over.

If your actual agenda of visiting Mauritius is looking for a job then you can still look out for a job, but you will not be able to work on visit visa.

Hope you have a pleasant stay in Mauritius
Cheers
