Hi Guys

I've just arrived in Mauritius from the UK. Granted I've only been here 2 weeks, still making the shift from the UK to here is not easy. Given I couldn't take the British climate any longer, the sun and being so close to the sea at all times is a tremendous bonus. My main difficulty is food. I'm committed to organic food. Finding the range is proving a challenge. More importantly, the cost of what's available in the supermaket is really exorbitant compared even to the UK.

Any suggestions would be highly welcome. I've left close friends behind. Would be great to make new ones. I'd be interested to chat to anyone generally about being here.

Hi Sudir,

Weclome to Mauritius.

Cheers!!!

I would suggest you the Goodlands Market Place every wednesday and saturday.
You will find plenty of local fruits and vegetables with almost and probably  no pesticides. And a lot cheaper than in the grocery stores.
In french or in creole, it's «la foire», pronounce it «la fwar».

traditional market will be and advantage for you compare to supermarket.
