Good to see Dutch citizens on the platform. How big is the community in Mauritius? I am French / English living in Tamarin but happy to connect with more nationalities. Take care

Anyone who wants to meet up, we are a Dutch family of four and live in Tamarin

We are considering buying a house in Mauritius, the first year as an investment and then moving there (with 2 daughters (15 and 19 years old). We hope to hear some experiences of dutch people. Is there a dutch community (eventhough it is small, I know). Or an active expat community with multiple nationalities?

Love to hear from you!

Hi Laura,

I read that you moved to Mauritius with your family last month! What an adventure! We consider the same with our 2 daughters. What are your experiences so far?

Love to hear from you!

We go to the redeemed community, not the katholic church but redeemed. A great community who do activities together like swimming, running, walking, hiking…. And on Sunday singing to the lord 😁 you are always welcome

Sorry! I did not realize it was not a PM.

My message in English:

Hi! I’m looking into moving to Mauritius for a while and I’m so curious to hear how you’re liking it! I read that you’ve been there for 2.5 years already—was it for work, or for love?

We’re currently in Greece for a month or two, and before that, we lived in Penang and Thailand for a while. We move almost every year; I left the Netherlands 25 years ago and never really went back, except for the occasional visit. I’ve lived in Asia for a long time and spent quite a few years in Southern Europe. Greece... well, it’s not for us. It feels a bit too 'run-down' here!

We don’t have kids, so moving around is pretty easy. I’d love to hear about your experience, especially regarding safety, healthcare, daily cost of living, the people, etc. Thanks so much, and greetings from Volos!
