What's the most effective way to make decent money in Mauritius

It might be a good idea to focus on building your skills for now, whether through studies or training. To be honest, no one can really predict exactly what recruiters will be looking for in 2030, but  having a solid foundation and experience in a field you enjoy will always be valuable

Take your time to explore what interests you and move step by step.

These are just some of my personal thoughts:

(a) What skills do you currently have?

(b) What do you enjoy doing, are you good with people/technology? You will spend 40 years at work so enjoyment/interest is important.

(c) AI will dramatically change the future skill set required, thus I would avoid technology and customer service roles.

(d) We live in an age where people live longer and will require more support.

(e) AI can’t replace personal services.

(f) Often I hear people on the forum talk about the difficult in getting reliable help/assistance. Thus your unique selling point could be a reliable/dependable/trustworthy service.

Think of this as the stepping stone to building a business with many employees that share the same values. In South Africa there are many opportunities for such businesses:

(a) Pet walking/grooming/house sitting when owners are away

(b) Help with local issues, a recent example would be assistance with getting driving licenses or converting the license to an international license.

(c) You shop/we drop – Shopping collection and drop service
