Hello everyone,

I’m an international student currently living in Mauritius, and I’m trying to understand how residents usually find service providers for home-related needs (plumbers, electricians, small repairs, etc.).

Is there a commonly used platform or reliable service in Mauritius, or do people mostly rely on personal networks, recommendations, or other channels?

Most residents usually find service providers through personal connections. For example, if you ask someone for a recommendation for a plumber, even if they don’t know one personally, they often know someone who does. It is very much a “word of mouth” network here.

You can also ask around in your area or take a look at our Mauritius business directory, which lists local service providers for various home needs.
