Permit to do business

Newly

Hello ,

Please can anyone help me to know

what other option is available to someone who wants to start a small business as a Sole proprietor in Mauritius but does not have the capital required for the Occupational permit ?

Can he or she go through the Ministry of Labour to get a Work permit to start  business?

If yes , pls what is the procedure and what visa would be given to enter into Mauritius to carry out the business when the application is approved ?

Thank you.

Hello and welcome !

To start a business, you'll need an occupation permit (self employed or investor).

Work permits are for employees and it's upon the employer to initiate the process.

If yes , pls what is the procedure and what visa would be given to enter into Mauritius to carry out the business when the application is approved ?

Business visa to be asked at the airport provided you have the Approval‑in‑Principle (AIP) from the EDB https://edbmauritius.org/

For tourist visa, please bear in mind that Nigerian nationals are allowed only 2 weeks' visa on arrival.
