Safety for young mum in Mauritius and Rodrigues Island

Making enquires about safety for young mum with 4 little children who is making move to Mauritius for 12 months, then moving permanently to Rodriques Island with her husband who is from Rodriques. Due to husband’s work she will be alone most days without a car and is worried about her and the children’s safety. Any advice would be very appreciated 🙏
