How did you experience the 2020 pandemic in Mauritius ?

Sunfirespirit

Hello friends. I would like to move to Mauritius. Before making this decision, I would like to know someone's experience during the pandemic. Was it very difficult? Was everyday life very strict or relaxed? I'm referring to the health measures (mask requirements, social distancing, PCR tests, lockdowns, etc.). I would like to know if they significantly affected the freedom to live and breathe freely. Some countries have been more relaxed, while others have been stricter. Thank you! In the event of another global pandemic, it is necessary to know if Mauritius is a good place to be able to enjoy your universal rights and freedom without limiting the freedom of others. Thank you!

Hello and welcome !

Measures were very strict. Everything you mentioned (mask, social distancing, lockdown) was compulsory. The island was shut down completely.

There's a wikipedia page that provides full details : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_ … _Mauritius

We were not among the countries that had a more relaxed approach.
