Hello Everyone!

I hope it's alright for me to create a post about this... My husband and I have arrived in Mauritius for nearly a week and are loving it so far! Great culture, friendly people and the weather is incredible!

We're renting a car at the current moment but since we will be here a while, we are looking to buy a cheap island car to get us from point A to point B. Don't need anything fancy as long as it functions. Could anyone please recommend where to find affordable used cars for sale, we would greatly appreciate it

We've looked at Facebook ads and other local Mauritius site posting but every person we contact has already sold their car. We would like to spend no more than 1-2K (USD).

Otherwise, if anyone is selling an electric or petrol moped, then we may be interested in that instead of a car.

Welcome to Mauritius. I looked into this because I was going to be here for 6 months. The costs even out at that time. If I was staying longer, I would consider buying a cheap car. However, I doubt if you could find anything decent with 4 wheels at your price range. A moped will probably be better, but watch out for any rain.
