Airport transport for frequent expat business travellers

Good day

I would like to get an indication of the cost for transfers from the North (Grand Baie, Mon Choisy areas) to the airport for people that travel frequently out of Mauritius for business. I had been paying a driver Rs2000 per trip. My last trip was in December, and now he wants to charge me Rs2500 in April. That is a 25% increase. I don't have issues with price increases, but 25% seems overboard, especially since I have always been using the same guy.

I've had issues with other businesses also putting up prices between 15-20% at a time. Appears to be way over inflationary increases.

Has anyone had similar experiences and can you share your thoughts.

Taxi fares are outrageous, never understood why.

Not sure about any "frequent traveller" programs but I know a very reasonable taxi service, PM me if interested

I paid 1,500 from Grand Gaube to the airport. Not sure if it's because my cousin here own a travel agent. So he charges me less. Or that is the right price.

I would say that Rs 1800 to Rs 2000 is the average price from Grand Baie to the airport .

Rs2500 after paying Rs2000 for a long time would annoy me too, tbh. Inflation is real but this feels rushed. I stopped relying on one driver after a similar thing happened to me. Last month I booked Transfeero for an airport run in LA just to avoid these conversations. Might be worth comparing fixed price options so you have leverage.
