Resident Visa

anjuleenigam

Hello,
I am new to this group so please bear with me.
I am looking to retire in Kenya. I am curious how I would obtain a Visa if I am not looking for employment?  I read somewhere that established income would be considered- but how much would I need to show that I have saved?  I would be living off my 491k until my social security starts- but there would be about 10 years before I start drawing off my social security and just living off my 491k.
Thank you for any guidance!

Hi, the Class K Permit would be the obvious choice, but it is your annual income that counts, not your savings.  You need to generate $24,000 minimum per year from savings, investments, property rentals and so on.  The government will not accept a lump sum of savings as evidence.  The permit is renewable on a two yearly cycle, provided that you continue to meet the criteria.

Thank you Longonot62!  Not good news for me though….
