Hmmm...yeah, I've heard the food is good. Any suggestions for a place with great food, booze and vibes? And not dead? haha. Thanks.
I would recommend Gandofly, there is many branches, nasr city, mohandeseen and maadi
It is great one

Most of us are based in Heliopolis, but we do venture to Maadi, Zamalek and Mohendiseen to try restaurants there.
If you're interested in joining us let me know.
I'm also interested in going out to other places and meeting new people, so I'm game.
Hi,
I'm quite new to Cairo and I'm living in Heliopolis for the next year(ish), moved here about 2 months ago from the UK with work. I'm always up for eating out with people or going to the opera house - is it ok to tag along some time if you're going out? I'm trying to meet expats here as I don't know many so far and it's nice to talk to people on familiar ground sometimes :-)

I think you've stumped everyone with this!
Anything happening next week? Can someone take a leap and propose somewhere? :-)

Noooo!! There's gotta be a place no?! The closest I've found so far is La Bodega, but the smoke in there was intense. So weird being in a resto/bar where everyone is smoking.
Enjoy

K, shall we say next tues, weds or thursday? somewhere in Mohandeseen or Zamalek? Any other preferences?
a few of us are meeting for a drink tonight at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Zamalek for about 8pm - come along if you can :-D Maybe then we'll have more luck organising dinner for another day.

so true
Hope everyone sees this. How about we meet at 8pm Friday 14th Jan at our old favourite(
), Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Zamalek, near 26th July street (see link for details: Coffee bean location ) I'll sit inside, probably upstairs as there's more room for a group. For the new folks, look for the ginger hair, you can't miss me
.Who's in?
Just to clarify, anyone can come, it's an open invitation to anyone on the Cairo forum who wants to make friends whether expat or Egyptian. If lots of people can't make Friday, let me know, it's flexible so we can change the day with a little warning

Hope to see lots of you there,
Elaine
Looking forward to it!

Sofia from Sweden
Though I will be arranging a dinner at a new restaurant somewhere between the 25th and 29th of Jan.
Let me know if you are interested.
Thank you for organizing this Elaine
