To be "in the topic subject" and to answer Lesleya question HOW IT IS TO LIVE IN EGYPT, I could say my opinion.
For me, Egypt was and still it is a challenge!
When I told my colleagues in my country that I would leave for Egypt, and not for a visit, just to live, they consider me little phony saying" How?  When all people GO WEST, cause west means civilization, you go in Africa?". Even they didn t give me too many chances knowing I am very sophisticated and very complicated, and I would not accept many rules here.
After the first year I left Egypt, for Europe but I was coming back, cause I feel really well here!
I try to be popular with colleagues and neighbors, and they respect and love me, people in the street are nice and for my way of living, I consider Egypt wonderful.
Most of it I enjoy mild winters, if this season could be called winter here, and fresh fruits that are a source of health.
It is also a saying in my country " MAN SANCTIFIES THE PLACE", so, you can create conditions that you wish and enjoy!
