I can tell you from my own experience that an intercultural relationship is more difficult, but also more interesting than staying with familiar folks (and thus can be more enriching or more problematic, depending on how you manage it).
To work well, it requires great tolerance, open-mindedness and understanding from both partners.
Dogmaticism (of religious or other nature) is the opposite of this and will cause problems. It can only work if religion is unimportant to both, or both acknowledge (and support) that the other is allowed to follow his/her own way.
If your man wants to change you (in any way, not just religion), it shows that he does not love you but the woman he thinks you should be. This is not good! In that case, you should ask him if he would also change his religion (or whatever ways he wants you to change) for you. If not (which is likely) - walk away from the relationship: A one-sided one is not healthy and you deserve better!

Unless you marry in some antiquated and/or overly repressive jurisdiction, nobody needs to convert at all!
There might be social pressures to convert, but then you need to ask yourself if you really want to give in to such.

The OP opened a thread and hasn't responded since. This will not cause the closing but the posts going toward religion and that subject is a no no. Some subjects are very tense and to avoid problems we do not discuss it here. There are many other platforms with these goals to discuss.
After I warned there are still some members who just continued replying on the religion aspect and that can cause the closing.

As Bhavna stated earlier : if she's not replying and they continue on the religion aspect than she will close it very soon.

I understand that the forum will be closed if the original poster doesn't respond in "months or years", but not "days" as for the menu title itself. "forum" where participants can exchange their own sets of unli ideas and views, not only for the benefit of the original poster but for other readers as well. I'm not a Muslim and i don't mind reading their different views on the topic even i'm not the person involved. I consider it as a learning process as it made me think once in a while on different topics/scenario that i may not experience at all.. what you meant by "posts going toward religion and that subject is a no no".. does it meant any topic can be discussed except religion?? now my response is irrelevant with the original topic of the forum. all people that commented here, on behalf of the OP, thank you all . as i guess.. the forum shall be closed at any moment >the end<
