how do you say I LOVE YOU in your own language...

in cebu philipines we say it...GIHIGUGMA KO IKAW... :)

In my language which is Filipino/Tagalog:


Mahal kita meaning I love you
Mahal na mahal kita meaning I love you very much

In Philippines, we have more than 30 different dialects.
In Moroccan dialect: kanbghiik or kanhebek :)
In Romanian language: te iubesc ;)
In my house, my children hug and kiss me without words...But i know they said " I love You " with their own word... :)

In Yogyakarta ( one of Indonesian Province ) we said " Kulo Tresno Karo Sampean "...that means " I Love You "

I love this thread. It must be wonderful for someone to say to you "I love you" in any langauage.

As an aside. While learning spanish in Malaga some years ago I asked 2 chinese students how to say "hello, good morning" in chinses. They helpfully wrote it out for me and how to pronounce it. On saying it to a chinese friend in england my friend burst into laughter I had been taught to say "I love you!!!"

In my language: I love you.
In swahili: Na kupenda
In Hindi - "Main Tumse Pyaar Karta Hoon" (if it's a man who is proposing) and "Main Tumse Pyaar Karti Hoon" (if it's a lady who is proposing).
We in  Lebanon we say B7ebbak بحبّك :))
in Arabic Language is: انا بحبك means i love u
in Belgium:je t'aime
In Scotland we would say, alright Mary Doll ;)

Cecco you are correct, in Filipino I LOVE YOU is MAHAL KITA , I LOVE YOU SO MUCH is MAHAL na MAHAL KITA

But i beg to disagree with your definition of true love in the Philippines
In arabic we say
for female  to male - Ahibak
For male to Female - Ahibik
In Gujarati (one of the Indian language) we say,
"Hu tane prem karu chhu"

In marathi (one of the Indian language) we say,
"Mi tula prem karatoy"

In Bangali (one of the Indian language) we say,
"Aami tumake bhalo mashi":)
In South Africa Afrikaans very much the same as Dutch is:  Ek is lief vir jou
In my language it is same i love you......

but whatever it is...once you have learned to speak it, it should be straight from the heart :)

Well, it doesn't matter if what language you do say it, just give them a warm hug and that could make it all ok. :)
