I'll save my mom first~~
But here's another question, how about if it was your husband / wife or your child? Which will you save first?

This seems a bit strange !!
BTW, why a stranger should be saved before your own mother ???

Child first ... no doubt at all. Then wife/girlfriend ... then complete stranger ... then dog ... then fish ... then go get some coffee ... oh yeah, almost forgot, mom's still in the water, right?

wow you must be a weight lifter or a good swimmer....
The Topic made me LOL.
For me, I will save who is slighter than me. If my husband is near my hand and he is heavier than me I have no way to save him.

Saimans,
It's not a strange answer at all. Obviously you didn't stop to consider that not EVERYONE has a good relationship with a parent or parents. I know exactly how Hailey feels and I'd respond in exactly the same way. I too would save an total stranger before I'd save my mother. I suffered incredible abuse all throughout my childhood and while I've learned to forgive it is impossible to forget. If you are one of the many who can say they'd save their mother first then consider yourself lucky, you had a decent mother. I thank God every day that I at least had a father who was kind and loving, someone I could model myself after, a hero who made up for the pain and was responsible for me being able to break the cycle of abuse and be a happy and loving father myself.
Cheers,

Something that seems strange to me about this site is how many people only seem to see everything from their own point of view. You'd think expats would be naturally more open to things different from what they've always known.
I'm probably not the most open minded person in the world, but I'd never be able to live in Hong Kong if I wanted everyone and everything to be like it was back home. What's the point in even leaving your country if you don't want to experience different things?

I just reviewed this thread and just now I understood why some or well most of your replies has different perception...sometimes i think that your meaning is to deep for me to understand.....
wud go with mother first then girl friend , since she can swim which wud give me more time to go get her , as for mum I don't think she can swim , therefor , going for my girlfriend , wud mean certain death of my mother ,
beside I jst broke up , so practically speaking , she's not high on my list right now

Not too deep, just a different culture. English is also my native language, so I can probably manipulate it better than someone who isn't as familiar.
wow many will remember that order to save...
haizzz the smart women got their ways again to get saved before the dumb guys
