Overstayed 90-Day Entry Visa

Hi folks,

My wife and I have been here visiting Brazil for about 96 days now, 6 over the 90-day limit. We wanted to extend before day 90, but we heard that they most likely don't speak any English at the police and we basically don't know any Portuguese... admittedly, we also don't know anyone here who could go with us and translate.

I'm aware that there's a growing fine we have to pay, my questions are:

1. If we make an appointment with the police and pay the fine, will they grant us the 90-day extension or would they tell us we have to leave right away for overstaying?

2. Would we be able to speak with someone at the federal police who speaks English, or is that unlikely?

3. Now that we've overstayed, assuming we don't take care of it right away, can we still get a domestic flight? Overstaying wasn't our plan, but we were planning to fly to another city in a couple weeks.

Any help with this would be really appreciated , thanks.

Do not go to PF if you plan on staying longer. "You will" get deported immediately or within 24 hours.

They will not let you return until you have completed the entire 6 months plus your stay over time.

My fines were usually taken care of online through the PF website before I returned or if you know someone in country to pay online and can email the proof of payment before you return. You would need a hard copy as proof.
