Some landlords like a copy of your passport. Other than that I don't believe anything else is needed other than money for the deposit. Possibly references translated into English?

Olá Sofia,

I'm not entirely sure if the process to rent a room is similar to the one for renting an apartment, but if you rent a property via an agency it is likely that they will ask for your passport/citizen card in order to assess your right to rent in the UK. Most agencies also ask for referrals of former landlords, a copy of your work contract and proof of address.

If you rent directly from a landlord or another tenant, it might be more common to not have to provide these documents.

If going through a letting agency they will not request much data, as they aren't allowed anymore. The necessary data will be collected by a referencing agency (all agencies go to the same) on their behalf.
Because you're coming from abroad you will provide pro and personal referees. Pro references are not likely to be checked, work contract verification will be based on paperwork, personal referee might be contacted by email.
A soft Uk credit check is usually done to filter out CCJ / criminal records.
