Buying New Household Furniture in Bulgaria.

Hi all,
I was just thinking about when moving to Bulgaria, instead of all the Emotional upheaval and paying for transportation of household furniture, Bedding etc , are there Major Stores ( like in UK ) that deal in New Suites , Beds and Flat pack furniture? Many Thanks.

Yes, there are several of these types of stores all over Bulgaria. More well-known might be Ikea and Jysk. Local are stores such as mondo, videnov, yavor etc. Newer ones are moemax (I think Turkish?)....

If you do a google search for мебели (furniture) then a whole lot should pop up. Most stores deal with flat pack style furniture, but some also have higher quality options.

In fact, quality can be hit or miss depending on the furniture. We got some lovely furniture from mondo, some absolute garbage from videnov.

But in general, furnishing ranges in prices and quality and you should be able to furnish a place without much issue.

There is only one IKEA, but there are many JYSKs, and a lot of local furniture stores. Look out for their promotional sales!

Ikea has one full store in Sofia, but it also has order centers in Varna and Burgas, where you can go in and see the models of most furniture and order/pickup furniture. The one in Varna is quite large and nice.
