Transfering money from Morocco

Post new topic

Bilal Kh

Hello guys!
I am from Norway and i have inherit some money from my grandpather that is moroccan.
I am buying a house here in Norway and I find it very difficult to get any info online about this.

If I have an bank account in Morocco, is it possible to transfer to my account in Norway?
Or do I have to smuggle my own legal money out from Morocco?

baijad

I don't think you can take the MAD out of Morocco.

do u have a moroccan citisenship as well?

Capoppy55

You should be able to do an international wire transfer. Check with your bank there first.

baijad

No, but the only money you can take out of Morocco is money you have bought in from other countries and can prove it is yours. like the American dollar etc.

No automatic transfer is allowed, you should Ask for an authorization from the Exchange Office based on the origin of the funds (inheritance), however you May be required to do it over 4 annual instalments of 25%.

Baijad is correct.
Find a trusted Moroccan friend who has business in Paris, give him or her 1% fee, and ask this person to transfer the funds from his or her Parisian account to your account in Europe.
The key word: “trusted Moroccan friend”.
Better if you have a friend in Europe who has businesses or Bank account in Morocco.
