Working in USA IT job market was surely very different from working in Canadian IT job market. Simple fact that the population of USA is more than 10 times that of Canada makes the IT job market much larger. I would be very frank to say, number of recruiters and people working in IT sector in USA are surely much much more friendly and helpful than those in Qatar. I am saying this because though I have been looking for a suitable job in Qatar for about 2+ years now, I have NOT FOUND ONE PERSON OR RECRUITER in Qatar that are ready to guide me in my job search. That is not the case in USA, I landed my first job in USA just in three weeks from starting my search in USA. As soon as I floated my resume in USA job boards I got people and recruiters who were ready to help me searching out a good job. Competition is very high and at the same time jobs are really huge in number. I did not change my skill set or my career path, I went to the same job and in the same type of sector. From one bank in Canada as Project Manager I went to a different bank in USA in same Project Manager role. During the interview itself I was clearly told that results will be expected from the day I start, which was very much liked by me. Expectations in Canada are much different, and I loved the fast pace in USA. Money was higher for sure and expenses were low compared to Canada. I was amazed and surely very happy. In 2016 October when my contract with AmFam ended, I was struck by ill health. I had no choice but get treatment in Canada and get fit again. In the meantime I got a project which I liked very much, the technology was what struck to my heart. I said I will do this and I kept working on the Program in TD Bank as Program Manager. I have done it for close to 18 months now and want to proceed to USA again. But the Qatar bug keeps biting me hard, I want a job in Qatar, I am trying very hard now.  I feel sad, probably the recruiters in Qatar want to look away from me because I am in Canada. Probably it is the way I look, probably the experience I have, probably color of tie, probably the hairstyle -- who knows??? End of the day, however I request them, the answer is NO YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR QATAR. That in short is my story, if you have any specific questions, please shoot them to me. I love to help one and all around and all and have in fact won the Ontario Volunteer Award once. I love to help people, something that is inherent in me. If you are planning for a move and need suggestions, please do let me know. Insallah you will achieve your dream!!
