For Expat group who r in Egypt, let's enjoy fun and to meet on real

why creating a group on another website when there is Expat.com ?

Organizing meet up is a great idea, we do organize one every month here in Mauritius. We were at least 70 yesterday evening !

i am in for any events in the future

Dear Julien, I really appreciate your reply, i dont mean to create a group there to chat, i meant to advertise there to let all the ppl know this website, i told my foreigner friends about it and they liked it so much

semsema ...... i've an idea, what about getting things real in here, Real Expats gathering  and professionally organized sessions about egypt with expat speakers, that covers most topics that goes around here.

we can even get this as an event some fancy hotel in the red sea, or even in a nice villa in maadi with catering, full day sharing people's experience.

maybe julien can also help us with some ideas ....btw julien GOOD JOB

I think that's a great idea. I'm in too. we need to know how many people will be willing to join. I think u should set a date and people list their names so we can book a place. but we need someone to be responsible for organizing the event. Who will be willing?

M_Omar, your idea is interesting to but is it doable? especially that it would be high in cost. But if u or someone else would organize it inside cairo I'd definately be in. I will help as mush as I can.

For the subject invitation, I believe that's quite an interesting topic/invitation, that'd turn this forum even more interactive and put the seeds for a healthy interaction between all members, at least in Egypt, just like in Mauritius as described by Julien:)
@M_Omar, you've came up with quite an ambitious idea, yet I agree with Ms. Rania, that it'd be much more realistic to start with a simple meet up, in a coffee shop or part of our beloved old cairo spirited places...shisha & historical spots, I'd suggest an open day activity, like a walk in Old Cairo/Pyramids area, where Egyptian Participants could give an introduction to our history to our fellow expat friends including a lunch or dinner for exchanging ideas and brainstorming... stuff like that, I guess it'd be much more practical, it all depends on the number of people who'd positively responds to this invitation...By all means, please count me in...and let us brainstorm and spread:) have a good day and long weekend to all of you

There are at least 2 topics about GOING OUT!There you could find data about when and where people meet.
Check the forum and you will find them. You look like " just landed " here, so try to inform yourself about what s happening in this site first. It is not very polite to " enter" the site and to propose users to move in another site for your interest and fun. If I were administrator I  would warn you and block after that if you continue to insist in such an idea.
And here WE ARE ALREADY A GROUP: expatriates that live in Egypt.

Concerning the issue of proposing others to move in another website, I didnt say that, I said that we can make advertising for the website there but not to move to another website, and the administrator told me about that in a very decent way, and I respect the founder so much, coz he really told me about this issue in a very polite way

Furthermore, am a polite person, you really don't know me to judge,it is un fair from you to say that am not very polite:)

By the way, am not old in this website, but i like it so much, and i told many friends about it,

And as I told you that am not old here on the website,so you can give me the information in a decent way:)because I really don't mean to annoy anyone here, and I respect the idea of this website so much, and I appreciate the founder and his way in giving me the instructions, and Expatriates that live in Egypt

Hi, don't worry it's easy for words to be misinterpreted... I'm sure no harm was intended but it never hurts to be polite, you're right take a deep breath and relax everyone.
I quite often arrange meetings in the evenings on this forum, some more successful than others. Sometimes it's just me and a friend, sometimes ten or more show up! I'm busy with visitors right now but I'd be up for doing something next weekend.
Wanna make a plan? In my experience the best thing to do is just set a time and date and place somewhere central and spread the word how about you suggest something for next Thursday as you seem very keen!

Yes it would be helpful if people could confirm either on this thread (or the other one I started) whether they are coming, although in my experience many people who say they're coming don't turn up in the end I'm sure they have their reasons but I'll be there at least so you'll recognise someone in the group!

Sorry Cairo Soccer, maybe the next meeting after this one can be a Friday if that suits people better? O don't want to confuse people by changing the day for this meeting
