How much does it cost to rent an apartment or a house in Sweden? It varies HUGELY in stockholm. In my neighbourhood (solna/sundbyberg) you can rent a nice new build apartment (2 bed; bathroom; lounge; kitchen) for around 17,000 sek including bills.

How much do you pay on average for public transportation (bus, subway, train, tram, taxi)?
Public transport in the stockholm area is quite affordable compared to London, where I lived before. It costs around 800 SEK


How much do you pay for basic food items such as rice, bread, and pasta?[/b]
It's really expensive - food is the most expensive thing here. I think for a 100g bag of budget pasta it's about 20 sek


What is your monthly budget for groceries?
1500 sek



How much does it cost to see a doctor/dentist/physician/specialist in Sweden?
for the doctor - 200 sek but after you spend 1200 on healthcare (appointments and prescriptions) in one year, the price is capped and the rest is free (paid for by taxes/health insurance)


How much do you pay for health insurance per month? N/A

How much does childcare cost on average per month?
N/A

What is your child's schooling budget per month? N/A

How much does it cost to fill up your car’s fuel tank? N/A

How much do you pay for electricity/gas/water etc., per month? It's included in the rent, so i have no idea

How much do you pay for your internet and phone subscription? When I moved here, european roaming charges were cancelled so i kept my UK phone as I live in both countries

How much do you pay for your lunch pack on weekdays? 90 sek

How much do you pay for an espresso coffee? 25-40 sek depending on where

How much do you pay for a cinema ticket? N/A

How much does a gym membership cost in Sweden? Around 700 sek a month

How much does it cost to rent an apartment or a house in Sweden?
I am living in Göteborg and here you can get an average apartment from 6000 to 10,000 sek per month.

How much does it cost to buy an apartment or a house in Sweden?
N/A

Around 650 sek per month

How much do you pay for basic food items such as rice, bread, and pasta?
Rice approx. 20 sek per kg
Bread approx. 20-30 sek per packet

What is your monthly budget for groceries?
1000 - 1500 sek

How much does it cost to see a doctor/dentist/physician/specialist in Sweden?
The cost per visit varied from 100 to 200 sek but after you spend a particular amount in a year (approx. 1000 sek) then it becomes free afterwards.

How much do you pay for health insurance per month?
My employer pays for the insurance.

How much does childcare cost on average per month?
N/A

What is your child's schooling budget per month?
N/A

How much does it cost to fill up your car’s fuel tank?
N/A

How much do you pay for electricity/gas/water etc., per month?
Normally its included in the rent.

How much do you pay for your internet and phone subscription?
100 - 200 sek per month

How much do you pay for your lunch pack on weekdays?
approx. 90 sek per day

How much do you pay for an espresso coffee?
15 - 45 sek

How much do you pay for a cinema ticket?
approx. 150 sek

How much does a gym membership cost in Sweden?
150 - 300 sek per month

How much does it cost to rent an apartment or a house in Sweden?
All I know is a studio apartment (23 sqm) at Huvudsta Centrum costs around 3900 SEK per month

No idea

How much do you pay on average for public transportation (bus, subway, train, tram, taxi)?
By this month, SL monthly ticket costs 860 SEK (but only around 500 something for students)

How much do you pay for basic food items such as rice, bread, and pasta?
Uncle Ben's Rice around 29 krona, bread more than 19 krona, pasta sometimes can be 5 krona per 500 gr

What is your monthly budget for groceries?
Around 2500 for 2 person in a household

How much does it cost to see a doctor/dentist/physician/specialist in Sweden?
Haven't gone to a doctor so far, but my friend says around 200 krona per visit

How much do you pay for health insurance per month?
N/A

How much does childcare cost on average per month?
Have no children yet

What is your child's schooling budget per month?
N/A

How much does it cost to fill up your car’s fuel tank?
900 SEK

How much do you pay for electricity/gas/water etc., per month?
It's included in the apartment rent

How much do you pay for your internet and phone subscription?
Internet 439 krona per month, phone 50 krona for 1 GB per month (I use Comviq)

How much do you pay for your lunch pack on weekdays?
76 SEK

How much do you pay for an espresso coffee?
I don't drink coffee

How much do you pay for a cinema ticket?
Around 120 to 160 SEK

How much does a gym membership cost in Sweden?
Fitness 24 seven costs 200 SEK, but for student it costs 169 SEK
