I live in Norrköping. I pay 4,800 sek for a two room apartment. That doesn't include electricity. With all of the bills I would guess its around 5,300 sek per month. However that is very cheap for the area we live in. I know people that pay 6,300 plus utilities for a two room in an area that isn't that great. I pay 300 sek per month for my phone bill and I think internet is about the same. 200 for gym, 600-700 to fill up my car, cinema is 150-200. We try to keep our food around 1,000 sek for two people a week but we could make it a lot lower if we wanted.

Ok, I try to make an estimation here:
> How much does it cost to rent an apartment/house in Sweden?
It depends on where in sweden you rent an appartment. Up in the beautiful north of Sweden. In Overtornea you are able to rent a 90 squaremeter appartment for 4000 skr a month(396€, 416$). If you want an appartment in Stockholm you'll have to pay, at least, four times that sum and in Gothenburg or Malmoe about 2,5 times that amount of money. Right now it is lacking of appartments in Sweden so it could be difficult finding any.
> How much do you pay for your public transport tickets (bus, subway, train, tram)?
If you are travelling in West Sweden and would like to see the landscape, get around for an affordable price I suggest you buy a "regionen runt" ticket. With this ticket you are allowed to go by trains, bus and tram for 300 skr(30€, 31$) 24 hours. You go all the way up to Bengtsfors and down to varberg(if you go by bus the last distance). This card is also possible to buy for 72 hours, a month a year and you just pay double price for 72 hours, about 1000(99€, 98$) skr a month and something like 10000(990€, 980$) for a whole year.
> Staple food: what do people eat and how much do they pay for basic food like bread, rice or pasta?
In sweden sausage is popular and that is a quite affordable dish. You buy a kilo for about 32 skr(3€,3$). People also eats a lot of meatballs, mashed potatoes, pasta and that kind of stuff. I think you survive on bout 20 skr<(2€, 2$) if you scrimp.

>What is your monthly grocery budget?
Too much

> How much does it cost to see a physician/doctor/specialist in Sweden ?
A doctor takes 300 skr(about 30€,$) for a visit.

> What is your children's schooling monthly budget?
Schools are free in Sweden so it only costs that expensive outfit your kids classmates got. ;=)
Hope that gives you a glimce.
