I am an software engineer who is planning to migrate to Austria probably to Vienna. A software engineer's salary in Austria with an experience of 3 years or 4 years is around €50,000 .
But after searching for income tax in Austria I got to know that, if the annual income is between
€31 000 – €60 000 tax rate is 42%.
My question is this annual salary is after the deduction of the tax or the tax amount will be deducted from the annual salary ?

If you find a job advertised you normally have to take taxes and insurance from that to get the amount you take home. In Austria its worth remembering that its a 14 month year unlike other countries where is it is 12 months.

Can you provide some details about this "14 months" thing? Or any online sources that can help.
Thanks!

Hello guys!

My girlfriend and I want to move to Austria in a couple of months and maybe you can help us with some answers :) I googled, but I don't speak German, so I couldn't find the complete answers.
We're freelancers, I'm a web dev and she's a graphics designer. What taxes do we have to pay (social, health, income, etc) ? Is there an online calculator for that?

Thank you!
