Hey everyone, I'm Marcel from Berlin, this is my first post in this community, it seems to be a really cool place.

I was in Brazil on a 6 month student visa and was ordered to obtain my RNE at the policia federal at the 1st of December, after about 3 months of waiting  but i totally forgot the appointment.
I payed the GRU beforehand though.
Does anybody know what could or will happen if try to leave the country at the airport? I really hope I don't have to make my way through the jungle.

My girlfriend who came with me couldn't obtain a work or volutary visa for her internship, so she overstayed her tourist  visa about 50 days. Is it still common practice to charge somewhat 8R$ per day? What about the fact that she also doesn't have the RNE?
Another thing: Does Brazil stamp "VISA VIOLATOR" in passports?

Cheers
Marcel

You'll just have to pay the fine when you leave Brazil.  No big deal.  They do not stamp anything in your passport about visa violater.
