Hi Expats from USA, is it safe to go shopping on the Bronx street down town next to the Military base? I was told by a Colombian stranger on Jimenez and Caracas ave, that there is a flea market on Bronx street, where they sell used bikes and souvenirs,and that I could go down there after dark until 3am in the morning when the prices are very low. Does anybody know if its safe on the Bronx street for Gringos.

I sure wish everyone posting here would NAME the city they are referring to! This blog is for all of Colombia. I am in Medellin, and since I don't recognize the information you posted, I assume you are in some other city than Medellin.

I think someone was pulling your leg. And not in a nice way. It's not a good area in Bogotá.
