Hi Erica,
I know somebody who works at KAUST. The thing you need to know is that you are expected to be married to your job (to their credit, they do state in their employment ads that employees need to be prepared to work long hours).
However, the pay is excellent and you would most probably be living on the campus so your overhead would just be the cost of food.
