MOH contract

Have been offered a consultant doctors post at AlJouf on a MOH contract.salary 30000sr.how is professional work, life outside of work and general living conditions.should I accept

In the past few years, MOH had improved its services and facilities a lot but it's still not up to the expectations if you know what I mean.(are you sure that your contract is with MOH and not with one of its contracted Hospital management , catering or maintenance companies?)

Aljouf is a small town with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do and living there can be and will be a challenge.

Best of luck
:)

hi ahmadaq sir,

hope u r doing well.i am selcted by moh in arar city as specialist doctor..they told me to work in arar central hospital.can you give me information about arar city and living condition.
than u in advance

All small towns in Saudi Arabia have similar life style and for an outsider it can be really challenging. Don't get me wrong, they have all the services like schools, hospitals, banks, supermarkets and even a mall or two. The government is directing more budgets toward remote areas development and it started to payback.
The problem is with the life style and there is not much to do. Some people can take it and even love it while others will not, so it all depends on one personality and his likes and dislikes.

thank you sir for your guidance.i want to know that is arar small town?it is capital of northen bortder so i think it might be big city.as an outsider ,saudi people support us?can we visit riyadh or other big city on weekend visit?
kindly reply sir,thanks u

Arar is a small city, I have been there few times and its more of a town than a city.

yes you can fly to Riyadh in a weekend, you can also drive if you like to drive 1100km's !!! (1500km's to Jeddah and 1100 to Dammam).

hi sir thank you.sorry for asking so much question.
in arar english internation school there?how people of arar?can i save enough money of my slary?
can we visit nearby country like uae from saudi?
i am very young and wnat to spend my 4 to 5 year to save enough money so asking.
thank you

In General people in Saudi save yearly around {(40-60% of their income) X 10 Months}. Some people less others more, So do the math and see if it's working for you or not.

For international schools, they have private schools (we call it Ahlia schools) but not sure if they teach the international curriculums. Most Saudi cities will have an Indian School so maybe you can look at that.

In general, patient-doctor relationships are not on its best in MOH hospitals. Patients complain that doctors are rude, incompetent and careless and doctors think the same about their patents. I use to work for a pharmaceutical company, and I use to be treated with very high respect from both patients and healthcare providers when am in an MOH hospital or a PHCC, but use to see lots of miss treatment happening around me by both sides.

For visiting other countries; first you need to have a Saudi exit/re-entry visa granted by your sponsor, then for Gulf states, you need to be living in Saudi for more than a year and to have a white collar job title in your Iqama then you are good to go. Arar is near Jordan, so for visiting there you need a visa (am assuming that you are Indian) and you can get it from their consulates in  Riyadh or Jeddah.

All the best,

thank you sir for your guidance..thanks a lot.

i am an indian, yonge 27 year.i am microbiologist so mostly i have to deal with laboratory work not with direct patient body.
after reading your post my determination becoming stronger to join saudi.

in saudi,i want to clear some royal college uk examination for further study and want to clear examination of UAE so,if my iquma mention doctor can it easy for  me to get visa even wetern country?
is our sponser allow us to visit other country for short period?

sorry for repeatating asking y so much question ,but because i am coming to totaly new world so curious to know abouut thaeir rules.

thank a lot sir,ur adivise will be great help to me.

-    I see no reason why your sponsor will not allow you to travel if you are doing it on your own time ( in general ,you are entitle to take your yearly holidays after finishing the first 9 months of your contract if your contract is a one year contract). The headache will be in processing your Iqama to start with and then doing all the paper-work for the exit/ re-entry visa (remember it's an MOH). It will be a long slooooow procedure with tons of “inchallah's” and “tomorrow it will be ready” promises.

thank sir,

my contract is of one year.hey mention one year renuable contract.

if we work for 2 to 3 yaer then can we apply for visa of western country like uk?is there possibility of getting visa of that country?

For applying, yes you can apply …..For getting it, well the people at the British embassy are the ones to decides to grant you one or no

Thanks mr ahmad.which is the biggest hospital in AlJouf where senior doctors/consultants in anaesthesia are posted.do u think 30000sr is a decent salary

thanks sir,but waht is possibility of getting visa for white collar job?

do have any information that expat people getting visa for further study ?

30k is within the average rate for an anesthesia consultant from India, the average being 25-40K depending on many factors like experience and training.

Usually, MOH go for external recruitment looking for less headcount cost, so their initial offers will be within the minimum of the average and they will increase it gradually if no applicants were found especially when recruiting for smaller cities.

Aljouf General Hospital use to be the biggest one in Al Jouf, but not sure if this still true since lots of new hospital beds are being added to MOH hospitals lately.

yes expats can getting visa for further studies, I was one of them.

For the possibility of this, you will know when you apply.

thanks for guidance

can you clear difference between compound living and simple living?i have read many place about compound living?want to know is compound living /

IS COMPOUND FACILITY AVAILABLE IN SMALL CITY LIKE ARAR?
what is mode of transportaion ?

is internate and television facility vailable in remote area?

hi mr ahmed ,i think u r busy now day.
hope u will free and reply soon.

thanks

Compounds give its residence more freedom, like women going out without wearing their Abaya's or swimming in mixed pools. Some compounds will have nice recreation centers with good Gyms and some entertainment facilities. Some people think of compounds as being a small community inside the big city.

I personally think that many compounds are not worth the X4-5 money they are charging and that most people living there are keeping their life's to themselves and not mixing with others which for me is the whole point of living within a “smaller community”.

Not sure if Arar have private compounds where you can rent (but most likely some companies and government organizations will have their own compounds for their own employees). Usually MOH has its own compounds and you will be offered to live there if your salary is not including housing allowance. MOH compounds have none of the things that usually private compounds offers, its only walled buildings where everybody you work with (you hate or love ) will be your neighbor !!.

For TV and Internet, yes off course Arar have that

thanks mr .ahmed,
in my contract they have mention that they will provide housing.

thanks for your guidance

hi mr ahmed,

sorry for rpeapeting distrubance,
i also got offer from jazan university as assistnat professor in medical college.
can you give me information of jazan city?
which is best option jazan or arar?

kindly reply fast pls

thanks in advance

To start with, It should be a career-bath decision since teaching is a totally different bath than practicing, that being said, Jazan is one of those cities where development had only landed there 3-4 years ago, so it's changing but it's still waaaaay behind other major Saudi cities. The sea is lovely, they grow awesome mangos and you are near Abha, the city with the best weather in Saudi Arabia, but Jazan itself have the worst weather in Saudi. The mixture of high humidity, dust and daily sand storms are a killer..

thank mr ahmed.
but if salary is same on both offer,
according to your opinion amongst two which one is best place to live arar or jazan?
if we consider lifestyle which is best jazan or arar?

thanks

Lifestyle!!!...the none existing of “lifestyle” is the same in both places. Forget about that; since the money is the same then think only about the career bath. Teaching or practicing.

If it was me I will chose Jazan because of the new university with potential to advance in education career and will choose Arar because  Jazan weather is unbearable. Your call

thanks mr ahmed,

sorry,my question r continue coming,
can u give information regarding dr suleman al habib group?
is it safe to work there in private sector?
because i have heared that working in ksa in private sector is dangerous, sometime they dont pay u slaary and many more problem?
i am selected in riyadh at suleman habib group.

can u guide me?it will be great help to me.

thanks

Sulaiman habib is a good hospital, but if you av opportunity for Lecturing go for that it has more benefit

hi teeluv,
thanks dear.
i got offer from jazan but i want to progress my career in laborsatory not in teaching,.
now i have offer from moh in arar city and al habaib group in riyadh.
if i select habib i have benifit of city like riyadh.
but my worry is to join private sector in saudi arebia, because people advise taht it is not safe to work on private sector in gulf.i got information from net tat habib is big private sector and very reputed but i have also got informatio n tat it is under financial crisis.

u people r in saudi so u can guide better.

thanks

Hi there i think you shd stay with MOH, arar is also a good city, with moh ur children will av opportunity of schooling and other things which might not be available with private hospital, so MOH is the best

hi teeluv,
thanks for your adivise.
but i want to tell u thast i was offered better salary than moh by habib group.
and other benifit r also offered as par m,oh.
my main concern is tat if i should join private sector ?is it safe to work with private sector like habib?
thanks

Bit do you know that on arrival Moh will still add some money to your salary like housing, transportation, experience and if no housing facility for the hospital you will receive 18000sr at the expiration/renewal of every contract. But also i do know habib is also a good hospital. My husband is also a Dr here with moh, thats why i can tell you this there is no way the private can be better than the govt owned, its depends now on your choice. Thank you

I will ask a DR Freind that know much abt Habib hospital

thanks teeluv,
thanks for precious advise,.
ur husban working in which city?and in which hospital?
i m selected as specialist doctor in ARAR CITY.
as per your advise i think moh is best option for me.
i m lured by habib because of riyadh city.so if have any frend in habib ,then kindly ask about more info.
can u give any idea about arar city, how tat place to life?

ur advise is precious fro me.
thanks

Every city in saudi arania is developed, you av shopping malls and other things there, then lucky you, you are going to be posted yo the general hospital so definitely is going to be in the city, we are in hafar albatin, my husband is a general practitioner with the PHC here in Hafar albatin also with Moh. Thanks

thank you madam,
i am offered about 17500 sr including housingis it handsome pay?can i save enough money?
is compound living facility will available in arar city?
they offered 2560 sr as housing per month,so can i get good enough house?

sorry for repeatating asking question.

thanks

Is this per month or yearly, per month the highest amount you can spens is 2500, no matter how much you are eating with kids, then as for housing like herevin hafar we use to rent a 3bedroom flat for 1000 and the highest price and neatest you can get is 1500 wc i no will not be upto that. As for compound facility i dnt no and i dnt think you can get there. But i dnt no whats the fuss abt compound house, i read a post on riyadh forum recently i cnt remember the post smbdy was saying the compound people are wasting money on does not worth it, its generally a waste of money there is nothing in it except for swiming pool of mixed sexes. Saudi arabia is generally safe you can move abt freely without fear or anything to bother about. I dnt mean to be insultive pls forgive if av done that. Thanks

hi mr ahmed,

if u r free then u can guide me about suleman habib group,if u have any information.

thanks

hi mr ahmed,
sorry to disturb you again.
i want to know about emmergency leave?
if i join ksa for one year contract whene will i eligble for emmergency leave?means after probation period of 3 month?
kindly guide
thanks

regards

You didn't even start working and you are worrying about the holidies already !!... loving the attitude. ;)

Ok, emergency leaves are supposedly for emergency cases, and should be used only for that. But to answer your question, an employee is entitling for his first annual leave after finishing the first 9 months of his employment period. In some companies they will incest on the 12 or 24 months period according to his contract.
For emergency leave , it's all on the hands of your direct boss and your HR department. Am sensing that you are thinking of using the emergency leave as one way to escape from the job if you didn't like it and go for one of the other offers you are having…..

hi mr ahmed,
first of thanks to u for guidance.
i m asking this because i think if i join ksa and if i m not able to adjust to working condition then what is way to leave?
can i ask my employee to leave saudi before my contract?they allo me to do so?

thanks
