Are you living in UAE? We need you to share your experience of the local customs :)

Is it difficult to adjust to the local customs in Abu Dhabi?

Could you please share with us a list of the do's and don't's in Abu Dhabi?

Thanks!

First of all, I would recommend not to leave either your contact numbers, email adresses nor whatever MSN, Yahoo or Skype coordinates on the forum!

Don't forget that people don't need to be member of Expat.com to read your messages! :/

So it's better to be cautious and this would definitely avoid to receive spams or whatever unwanted harrassements in your communication means, especially the girls!

This is my 2 Fils worth! :D

Hi,
Abu Dhabi is a very safe place to live. However, if you are a female, just be modest in your clothing. Avoid short or string T shirt showing up too much flesh. Be patient even in situation that you find absurd/ nonsensical according to your usual environment or culture. Try to understand the local culture and learn some Arabic.:)

Just an experience to share, for the males who have (married) Muslim friends,  it is not customery to shake hands with your Muslim friend's wife.
