Questions for Quito Native?

Hi everyone-

I have an online Spanish instructor based out of Quito. We generally focus our first hour of weekly class on "conversation", and I can say that at this point we've pretty much learned everything we can about each others families, general interests, etc. So in the interest of keeping conversation interesting, is there anything that any of you living in Ecuador, or even if you just have an interest in the country, would like to know from a native? I'm just thinking that passing along any questions you might have might be a good way to open up new conversation with her.

In the past, I've generally been interested in Central America and Mexico, as that's where I've visited in the past to study Spanish. But speaking with her has made me curious about Ecuador, so one day I hope to travel there. I was hoping to be able to do so sooner, but as always, life, business, and family have made other plans for me. But hopefully someday soon.

So if you have any questions you'd like for me to pass along, please let me know, and I'd be happy to respond with her answers. We usually meet online every Saturday, but next week I'm off from work, so will likely be meeting more often. Thanks.

I live in QUito for 3 years, originally from the Boston area and have an interest in what you are saying because I am a teacher, teach English here and love learning myself!   Great idea you have for making  and keeping stuff interesting!  I have interest in the arts here as well as cine and anthropology, history of this country  and artifacts, mueums, etc etc  in Ecuador.    Private msg me and we can talk more.   sueb4bs     P.S> Did you know?  HOUSTON is very close to Ecuador -- about 5/6 hrs (not including layover in Panama.)  GO through the bush airport to reach the West COast frequently!
