Hi all,
Newbie on the Saint Lucia forum? Dont know how to start?
This thread is for you
We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your expat story if you are already living in the country, or to tell us more on your expat projects in Saint Lucia if you are planning to move there.
It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.
Welcome on board!
Hi,
Thank you for your welcome
I may be moving to St Lucia to get married and found this site on my search. I am from the UK and am worried about job opportunities. My expertise is in the arts and wondered if t is popular over there. I am currently studying dramatherapy, specialising in the well-being of children and young people (although flexible to work with all ages) and hope to use this skill in schools, youth clubs hospitals etc,. Do you know of any practicing dramatherapists that I could perhaps get in contact with?
Hi, my name is Jon, it's pronounced Joon where I'm from though but I don't really care or correct English speaking people if they say John.
I met a friend, Jackie, and her father is from my home town here in Sweden, Piteå, and she now lives here and we have become friends and the more we talk about Saint Lucia etc the more I feel I want to move there. So know I have decided to accually make an effort of doing just that. First of all, raise some money, not just for the flight ticket no, but enough so that I can live there for a year without really needing a job, but of course I will get a job. I have read that it's not like you can just go there and get a job, and guess what? You can't do that anywhere in the world. But if you got skills that few others have, then it's you who have the best position instead of the employer. And where I live, Sweden, we are world leading in building houses etc and I happen to be a really good carpenter with side skills in electrical wiring, plumbing and welding. I know I will get a job in every country in the world if I want one.
So this is me, a 30 year young Swedish carpenter that has the ambition to move to Saint Lucia and live there.
