Hi;

I'll be moving to Bahrain soon. I'll be working at Seef area. Where  do you recommend for family accommodation? I got to know that this northwestern area of Bahrain has continuous clashes between government and protesters. Is it safe to live there?

It depend where in Seef ? if u will be more specific i can tell you ? i have Egyptian friend who thought he living in seef area but he was staying in area called sanbise and got effected because of the tear gas and smoke of burning tire but this was long time ago the clashes are rarely to happened and mostly in Friday  but in General it is safe no need to worry at all .

And welcome to Bahrain

Seef and Sannabis are two different places and they are separated by a huge highway. Sannabis has the clashes. Nothing happens in Seef. I have been living and working in Seef since July last year and I can confidently say you will be fine.

If you have any more questions, feel free to let us know.

I know brightongy but sometimes people mixed up between both because they close. Yes Seef is very safe area I totally agree

Seef is not really practical for families if you want a villa with a garden. IF you want a nice apartment though then it is lovely. Saar is 10 mins away and has lots of nice villas to choose from. If you want me to introduce you to a really good real estate agent then just let me know. He will show you as many properties as you want and doesn't charge anything (they aren't allowed to btw)

Jo is right. I don't think there are any villas in Seef. There are many sky scrapers ranging from studio apartments to 5 bedroom penthouses. Depending on your budget and preference.

Thanks all for your comments.

I'll be working in Seef, really :). Exactly in Al-Moaayed Tower.

I'm actually looking for a 2 bedrooms flat, furnished with a budget of 400 BHD. I have found many matches on bahrainpropertyworld mostly at Saar, Burhama, Janabiyah. Any of these areas known for problems?

My main worries are to stay away from usual clashes for family safety. Also both my kids have Asthma so exposure to tear gas is very bad for them.

Also if I decide to live in Adliya or Juffair (if I pick one of the schools there for my elder daughter). How is the traffic to Seef early morning and evening? Is this a good choice or the traffic is to bad to handle?

Thanks in advance;
Haytham

Hi Haytham.  Welcome to Bahrain.

Morning driving time from Juffair to AlMoayyed Tower in Seef is about 20 minutes.

If you wish to avoid exposure to tear gas, then you should try and avoid Saar, Burhama, Janabiyah. Whilst living in these, as in many other areas in Bahrain, is perfectly safe, you do get the odd tyre burning, road blocking vandals. I will not call these "clashes".

You may not find 2 bedroom apartment options in Seef for BD400,  i am afraid.

Trust the above helps.  Let us know if you have more questions and best wishes with the move.

The cheapest two bedroom apartment I know of in Seef is 500BD. It is very hard to find a two bedroom apartment in Juffair, Adliya and Seef within your budget. You might want to top it up a bit with your own salary if your allowance is 400BD.

Hi,
We used to stay in new Juffair but aside from very expensive it is also traffic along the way in fairness that area especially near the sea is ok.  We moved to Janabiya near to AL Ayam newspaper since last year and so far we did not face any problem, It is a very quiet place, very accessible from the highway especially that my husband is working in Saudi Arabia and coming home everyday.  We are only paying Bd. 400 which is half of the amount of what we were paying in Juffair the flat have two huge bedrooms, two bathrooms, good kitchen, fully furnish, with excellent amenities swimming pool, billiard, pool, squash room, sauna and steam bath, nice party roof with barbecue area, jacuzzi  and separate kitchen and toilet for the guest and high quality gym, clean building mostly European tenants, polite care taker and we are happy here.  If you don't want any problem, you have to avoid inside budaiya and saar but the highway to Janabiya is fine.
