Lady Expat Searching For A Life in Bahrain

I'm almost 7mos now here in Bahrain. On the first months, I was fine. Coz I have my parents here. So it's a bit easier to adjust. I'm going to work, going home to my flat, on weekends I'm going to my mom's house and we are going to church on Fridays as I only have Friday off. Sometimes we're going out, shopping, eating with some restaurants. And also, I'm having one activity in Fridays for a few hours in the Funland. But that's the problem, I keep on doing the same routine every single day. And now I'm feeling home sick. I feel like I wanna go home to our country and just work there even with a small salary. At least I have a life of my own. I have my friends there and all the people I know that I can talk to. Honestly, I don't have much time here to look for friends but I want to. And I don't know how to. I'm in the early 20's and I'm not sure if there is someone out there who are like me. Looking for friends, for a life. Here in Bahrain. Some of my friends in our country said that maybe it's because I don't have a social life here. That's why I feel stressed and tired of everyday work. Because all I do is work, and work, and work. I'll be honest, I'm in a young generation and in our country, I have a lot of friends. We are going out, drink, eating outside, talking a lot, having fun. I just really don't know how can I have that kind of life here? I feel like a prisoner, with no life. What should I do? I just need some enlightenment here, and of course, friends as well. So if anyone here who are somehow can relate to me, please let me know! ;)

Hi

If you read through the forum there are lots of posts just like yours which you can reply to and make arrangements to meet people.

One little word of advice - always send contact details in a private message and don't post them on the forum or you get inundated.

There is a huge Filipino community in Bahrain so I am sure you won't have much trouble making new friends.

Good Luck

Hi, I know you are working many hours but are there any groups or activities you could join on a Friday where you could meet people with similar interests? Have you checked timeout Bahrain and similar guides to see what's on offer? Good luck, I'm sure you will find lots of friends soon.

Thanks for the cheer up everyone! :)

Yea. I hope so I can meet new people soon. I haven't checked so much on Time-out BH but I've heard about it. I just really don't know how to start working out with my free time. Anyway, thanks again for you three! For the cheer and tips. It made me feel better somehow. Maybe I just really need some people to talk to, u know. Thanks! ;)
