IQAMA TRANSFER & PROFESSION CHANGING

I hear that It is possible before 4 Nov.

If you hear that is possible, then by all means go ahead please. Before that check with any agent and you will know.

Hi.

I have a question:

If after having obtained a release from the current employer (all transfer documents necessary) the (new) sponsor-to-be is unable to take the transfer, what then? Is final exit a possibility (as a last resort) without the intervention of the sponsor who's already released you?

Also, I've heard that ministry of labour will be operating as usual during the upcoming Hajj/Eid holidays this year. Can anyone please confirm this? Here's where I read about it: http://saudigazette.com.sa/index.cfm?me … 0912180120

Best regards

For the first part of the qn, yes final exit is a possibility as last resort, also trying for another sponsor who can change the sponsorship is a better option as well.

As for the latter, yes they will be working as per news. But how effective is what is supposed to be seen.

Thank you for the reply; much appreciated.

One more thing: is it possible to check the nitaqat status of a company (potential employer) using their C.R number?

Better if you also have the Sahib Al Amal no that starts with "700" a 10 digit no.

C.R code is all that's mentioned on the demand letter. By "sahib al amal" do you by any chance mean the "rukhsatul amal" number that is mentioned on iqamas?

Best regards.

What exactly is that number for anyway, for the sake for information? A company's labour license number or something?

Thanks for all your help!

Like your ID no or Iqama number, this is a unique identification number for employers with the labor office other than their commercial registration. Information that is not available under the CR number will be available under this number like company status , employee details etc.

I need a little advice on a problem of mine. I landed in the Kingdom around 2 months ago and fortunately or unfortunately my Kafeel is in Red Category and what I heard so far is that the Kafeels in Red Category cannot get iqama and hence I have not received my Iqama till now. My question is whether it is possible to transfer to another kafeel before making the Iqama if current Kafeel is in Red Category. If yes, what documents are required for doing so. I would be obliged for a little quicker response.

1) Demand letter from the new sponsor interested in hiring you, addressed to your current sponsor.
2) Original, or a copy of the passport and the entry visa stamped on it, clearly showing the border entry number.

I think that's about it as far as required documentation is concerned in this case, although people like HRGuru and TLL would know better. As for the transfer itself, I believe the mandoob of your prospective sponsor will need to visit the Ministry of Labor and submit an application to transfer you under their sponsorship. The consent of your current employer is not required for the transfer as they're currently in the red category.

Best regards and best of luck. I hope things work out for you and soon.

My profession on Iqama is housekeeper but I am working on computer. I do not have documents to change my profession now. I will have the documents in another 1 to 2 months. My company is in green category. HR told me no problem if I don't change my profession.  They also want documents if I want to change profession. What will happen to those who did not change their profession within the grace period of Nov 4, 2013? Will there be fine and jail.. I am worried so please explain...

There wont be fine and jail, if you are working with your sponsor itself. If you are working under a different sponsor then yes this will be an issue. Your company can always "claim" that you are "officially" working as housekeeper.

Thank you for the reply...

Dear HRGuru,

I would like you know that in my Iqama profession is Labour (Amil Aadi) and I work as IT Support (IT Dept) in Dec this year my iqama is going to expire shall i request to my Sponsarship to change the profession or they will change it by themselves. You need to change the profession or your company needs to change it for you. The profession will depend on your attested bachelors certificate and also the type of business the company is doing.

Dear HRGuru,

I am working as a secretary in a company. My profession on Iqama is Aamil Aam. Please advice some suitable profession on which I can get a family visa easily. I have BBA degree.

Your quick response will be appreciated.

With that degree, change to Marketing Specialist or Business Analyst so that you will be able to get the visa.

I have not changed profession because of lack of documents.  I had mailed my government relation office about this and asked them if there would be any problem after November 3rd. They replied in mail that if there is any problem they would not be responsible.

I went directly and asked them then they told there would not be any problem. I can change my profession later but have to give 1000 riyals as fees after November 3rd.

Today, I read in arab news that the Ministry of Interior has slapped a SR 100,000 fine on expatriates who are working in professions other than those cited on their visa.

So, please tell me the procedure to get final exit. Thank you

Ask your current employer / sponsor to give you final exit and they will process it for you.

Hello again.

I need some further information regarding my first question in the above post. How do I go about obtaining a final exit in case the prospective company's unable to transfer me under their sponsorship? All necessary release letters for the purpose of transfer have been obtained from the present employer, with attestations from Chamber of Commerce. Do I approach the Jawazat office directly, or will I need to go to the Ministry of Labor as well for this?

I'd highly appreciate any help in this regard.

Best wishes.

You've to visit MoL (Ministry of Labor) first @trono. They'll issue an advice to Jawazat for the final exit.

Do you mean to say I do not need to go to Jawazat or ministrdy of labor, that I can get final exit done by the government relations department...

The best way to get is through the GR department in your own company, but if the sponsor is refusing or not giving final exit / release and you want to return to your home country then as TLL said, visit MOL and they will do the necessary to get you final exit.
