How is Port Moresby today?

Dear all,

My husband is considering a job offer in Port Moresby PNG..and I am planning to come with our two year old toddler. I've been reading not so good news about the place and would just like to get an idea on what is the current situation there. Is there still a malaria scare? How safe is the place for expats? Is there a day care or play area for kids?
