Hi all.  I would like some advice if possible.  My family and I are looking to move to Nairobi in January.  We have a 3 year old daughter who we would like to enrol in to a nursery.  Does anyone have any advice on good nurseries?  We are currently living in Dubai and she attends a small Montessori nursery which she absolutely loves.  We would really like to find a small nursery for her to attend.  All thoughts and advice is really appreciated.  We really have no idea where to even begin.  Many thanks.

Thank you so much non4me, this is so helpful.  We were really not sure where to start so this is fantastic.  All suggestions and pointers gratefully received - no such thing as over informing in my book.  I really appreciate it.

More than anything what we are keen on is a stand-alone nursery, not a school that starts from FS1 or Age 3.  This is what we have been used to in Dubai and would like to continue in Nairobi - until our daughter reaches "school age".  It also means her younger sister can join her when she is ready.

So thanks again and if you do have more suggestions, please do post them!

Would you by any chance also need a nanny for after school?

Banda school, kianda school, makini school and brookhouse are excellent choices.

For the 2013-14 school year, consider Woodland Star School. the website and facebook page speak for themselves.

Start by identifying where you will live then choose schools in your neighborhood. Good stand alone nurseries in Nairobi will not be difficult to find.
