Opening a cafe

Hi there,

I'm new to this forum. My girlfriend (British) and I (Canadian) are considering moving to Gibraltar and opening a cafe. All the pricing I've seen seems reasonable for operating costs, but in order to take over the lease I've seen people asking crazy prices.. 120,000 pounds etc..!

Just wondering if anyone owns a cafe or similar there and how they went about starting up, getting a lease, etc.

Originally we were looking at Tarifa, Spain, but are now looking at Gibraltar since its very close to England in many respects thus making starting a business much easier than in Spain.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

have you been to Gibraltar yet?  There seems to be many cafes here already so competition would be fierce.
