FREE British Council/HSBC event for primary kids, Wed 27th, Maadi

Kids Read Community Event at Olympic Sports Centre, Maadi on 27th June

This FREE community event taking place at the Olympic Sports Centre on Wednesday 27th is part of a wider project sponsored by HSBC called Kids Read. The project aims to encourage reading among primary aged children and the British Council is implementing this in schools and in the communities via these events of which this is the third.

On the day we there will be storytelling sessions (in English) led by HSBC volunteers using picture books and interactive techniques that will involve and engage the children NO MATTER WHAT THEIR LEVEL OF ENGLISH. There will also be crafts activities and later in the day sports activities and competitions with prizes. FOR THE ADULTS there will be a WORKSHOP which aims to pass on the STORYTELLING techniques in order to encourage the parents/guardians to read with their children at home. The event starts at 1300 and ends at 1845. There will be water available but we will not be able to provide food so the CHILDREN SHOULD BRING SOMETHING TO EAT with them. The event is free of charge.
