Coming to Bahrain

Post new topic

KSD

I will be joining my husband in bahrain for 6 months starting in November.  This may sound silly but what since I have been in the corporate world for the lsat 30 years I was wondering what kind of everyday clothes do you wear in Bahrain?

Are jeans acceptable?

We are looking at a villa in Arrad.  Does anyone know anything about that village?

Any help is appreciated.

thanks for the information.  This is going to be a new experience for me.  I have always worked and now I will be
an expats wife.  Strange and exciting at the same time.

Are US women viewed as harlots and treated with no respect?  I am considering a job near Bahrain (Damman) and been told horror stories about warped way of thinking and treatment of expats.  Very concerned about taking job and if my wife would ever be able to come and live there.

Not at all. My partner and I have been made to feel very welcome by the local Bahrainis. I have also met women here from syria, jordan, and all over the middle-east and all have been very friendly.

In reference to the men (perhaps I should have mentioned) they do tend to honk in Bahrain if you are wearing a short sleeved top or tight fitted clothing or shorts. And I have heard from friends that frequent the bars in the hotels than sometimes the men will flirt with you regardless of your marital status. But that is possibly just Bahrain... as we have got Saudis coming over from across the causeway who don't get to socialise with women who arent family much.

This has put my mind at ease, was panicking about which clothes to bring lol

Yes girls are safe in Bahrain. Your boyfriend is from Kobar which is in Saudia Arabia.
Saudia Arabia and Bahrain are connected by a bridge and its easy for any GCC nationals to drive between borders.
He wants to meet you in Bahrain and not in Saudia Arabia beacuse in Saudia Arabia the rules are different.
Its hard for girls with open minds to live in saudia Arabia but in Bahrain there is no restrictions.
if you need any more information you can contact me on my mobile +97339877659
