Thanks Magnum Psyche! I'll check it out. Do you by any chance know whether it's open for visitors? If so, whether it's restricted to certain days/times?

I went to the Misr Public Library today and they told me that it was only open for visitors on Mon and Fri (forgot during which times, but it could be only in the mornings)

Umm.. actually i am not certain about this, but let me check it for you.

My son sometimes studies at a "Coffee bean and tea leaf" coffee shop located in a quiet place (Aswan square). Also free wifi.

MPL:
You can apply for membership of the library, all the information is on their website, something like LE30 a year.

Okay...the Greater Cairo Library has been closed for 3 months because of renovations.

Thanks again, Geely, I will check it out if I'm around. Becoming a member is not an option for me since I'm only staying for a short time.

There is a library in Heliopolis, Saleh Salem street, but sooo small, not enough space there to sit and work.

Wow, thanks, this looks like a perfect place! And so close to me!! How is it there in Heliopolis? Always enough space or often crowded? Good to concentrate and getting things done or too social?

The place is what you make it! I think its always possible to find a workspace for one and at least one host should be present to open for you.
