It really can be hard to make friends when you first move to a new country or place. I struggled at first. I got involved in my community through my children, church, and work. If you are on your own, it can be overwhelming and hard to find a place to start meeting people. Volunteering, exercise, and religious groups are probably the easiest groups to join and surefire ways to meet people.
