Best thing to do is get there and meet people while you are getting settled. Never do anything over the internet or phone when new in Ghana. Its a great place to live and I sure miss it. Good-luck
I suggest you try accraexpat as there are some rooms advertised there but I also echo the advice about not sending money etc until you have actually arrived and seen the property and then making sure you are actually dealing with the owner as a lot of people are scammed by people offering rooms to rent only to find they don't have any authority to do so from the real owner.
