hello everyone.. just wanted to moan a bit after long, tiring week at work. i live in downtown and commute everyday to maadi and it shocks me what is happening in metro every morning. the worst animal instincts seem to be coming out of ppl. being a woman, i usually take the women's car and trust me.. no ladylike behaviours to be observed. noone cares for in and out door signs, noone actually cares for anyone there. pure madness. and i dont know actually what is the solution to this problem. i think metro works regularly and frequently enough, maybe then it is just supposed to exceed any humanly possible density?

thanks for letting me moan on this beautiful thursday afternoon.

enjoy your break everyone!

As an Egyptian person and as a female i'm so sorry for troubles you face in metro, this how it is millions of people use metro everyday some of them even own cars but they prefer it because it's faster and to avoid crazy traffic especially in mornings and afternoons when everyone is going to or returning from work. Any way wish you good luck finding more comfortable transportation.
Have a happy holiday.

the problem is not how many ppl uses the metro - it is probably even better that they do rather than add to the pollution. just the lack on polite manners when getting in and out. and i m just moaning - dont pay that much attention to me :)

I just came back from Guangzhou, China and have used the metro there (also around 6PM), it is really clean, people abide the rules and I feel really safe there. There are glass doors on the platform and they open only together with the doors of the cars. I hope it can be the same in Egypt.

well, that is true, and there is no benefit to deny it, many girls, locals and expats complain about this disgusting behaviour..

I completely agree with you Magdaw. No maniers, no education, like going to war. When I started working and started taking the metro on week days and on the worst hours, I thought I would never get used to being pushed, screamed at, etc. I was scared every morning, but finally I got strong and used to it. Sometimes I prefer to take the other cars- instead of the womens, as men usually leave you some space to breath. I have observed that some older women or moms with their babies do the same.
Good luck!
